After matching on Bumble, Mackenzie asked Jared to join her and some friends out for some "awkward dancing" one Saturday night. With the help of some awesome wing-men, they hit it off. They quickly were spending so much time together before Mackenzie had to go back to Cincinnati to finish college. After many dates, seven months of long-distance, they were back in Dallas together... and the rest is pretty simple.

Jared snuck Mackenzie's parents and pup-brother Woody down to Dallas (with Covid-tests in tow) while he tricked Mackenzie into a "photoshoot" of them in their new home. After suggesting to go outside, Jared put on a big puffy coat (that Mackenzie made fun of him for since it wasn't that cold) and they started to take some photos in their new backyard. Out from the jacket pocket, he pulled a beautiful ring and asked Mackenzie to "sign up for more than the 30-year mortgage" they had just gotten. Of course Mackenzie said yes! Both sets of parents were hiding in the driveway for big hugs to make the moment even sweeter!

Mackenzie and Jared can't wait to celebrate with y'all in Dallas! Family and friends make everything better.
