Jake and Mackenzie met while they were both in graduate school at Iowa State University, balancing long days, demanding coursework, and three-quarter time assistantships. Jake worked at the meat lab, while Mackenzie spent her time at the sheep teaching unit, and they quickly bonded over their shared work ethic, love for agriculture, and the mutual challenge of finishing their degrees. Somewhere between busy schedules, lab work, and nights out on the town with shared friends their friendship grew into something more. As they spent more time together, they discovered how many interests they shared, from agriculture to fishing, and how naturally life fit when they were side by side.
