We first met in 2013 when we lived on the same freshman floor at Washington University in St. Louis. After several late nights of mozzarella sticks and laughs, we became better friends until we started dating in December 2015. Following graduation, Hunter stayed in St. Louis for work and Kenzie moved to Chicago for graduate school. Whoever said distance makes the heart grow fonder is crazy, because I can't imagine anyone would ever choose long distance...but when Kenzie graduated from Northwestern, we moved to Denver, Colorado where Hunter continued to work for Anheuser-Busch and Kenzie started her career as a speech-language pathologist. In November 2019, Hunter was finally convinced to get a Christmas tree to put up in his apartment and Kenzie could not have been happier. While watching the Browns game, Kenzie began to put up the tree. When it was time to decorate, Hunter handed Kenzie a box of ornaments to put hooks on. Unbeknownst to Kenzie, Hunter was sweating bullets anxiously awaiting the time when Kenzie would pick the special ornament. She finally picked one up and noticed something odd about the ornament - it had something written on it. After reading, "Will you marry me?" Kenzie turned to Hunter, who was waiting beside her with the most beautiful ring. The rest is history and we are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together!
