Music has always been a throughline of our relationship. - Whiteside Mountain Trail: 2 mile loop, moderate difficulty, panoramic views of the mountains [15 min drive] - Dry Falls: An easy walk (.25 miles, round trip) takes you under a 75 foot waterfall [10 min drive] - Glen Falls Trail: 2 miles round trip, moderate difficulty (steep descent), with three cascading waterfalls [10 min drive] -Sunset Rock & Ravenel Park: 1.2 miles round trip, easy to moderate difficulty, short hike to Sunset Rock offers a view over highlands [10 min walk / 3 min drive] -Cliffside Lake Recreation Area Trails: ~1 mile, easy hike/walk around a scenic lake with picnic areas, and multiple short trails like the Clifftop Vista Trail [15 min drive] - Whitewater Falls Trail: 1/4 mile to view the falls or 1 mile walk to the base of the falls to view the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi River [40 min drive]
- Lake Glenville Activities: A reservoir located 15 miles from Highlands. Visit Signal Ridge Marina [25 min drive] to reserve paddle boards and canoes or rent a pontoon boat with friends! - Golf: Sapphire National Golf Club; Red Bird Golf Links (9-hole Course) -Old Edwards Inn Spa: Lovely spa if you are staying on an Old Edwards Inn property (reservations required) - Shopping: Downtown Highlands has lots of cute shops to explore!
