Charmaine and I met at Valley View Bible Church. At the time we were both involved with the Sunday worship team, Charmaine sang while I worked the soundboard. After some time, Charmaine began to develop a crush on myself and spoke with our mutual friends Leah and Nina who were quite excited. Leah and Nina would then go on to try and figure out if I had any romantic interest in anyone (but were certainly not subtle with their emphasis on Charmaine.) At the time I was blind to Charmaine's flirting and had asked God that he make it abundantly clear if he had someone he intended me to marry. Charmaine and Leah later asked our friend Josh what she should do and he recommended asking me out, knowing that I would be oblivious to anything else. So it was that Charmaine texted me and asked if I would like to get coffee. Immediately I recognized that this could very well be God answering my prayers and said yes. On August 3rd, 2024 we went to Changing Hands Bookstore for coffee and I suggested getting Federal Pizza for dinner. After parting ways for the evening, Charmaine had called Leah to vent that I did not like her and that she was too awkward. Charmaine then received a text from myself saying that I had enjoyed myself and that we should do that again. Over the next year, God made it clear that this was an answered prayer. God continued to work in both of our lives as friends moved away and we changed churches to Camelback Bible Church. In July of 2025 we went to visit Josh and Lauren in Wisconsin with Leah and Nina to celebrate their son's first birthday and July 4th and I used that time with friends to propose to Charmaine, the Love of my Life on a pier sitting on Lake Geneva. Charmaine, I Love you, so much. You are beautiful, kind, smart, funny, and love God with all your heart, I am so excited to marry you and celebrate with our friends and family.
