Until Brandon and I started dating, our paths were always parallel - same elementary school, neighbors, homecoming king and queen, and then off to play college basketball. It was summer 2020, the beginning of COVID, where our paths finally crossed. Because all of the gyms were closed, I reached out to Brandon and asked if he’d be willing to workout with me since he was down the road and we needed similar workouts for basketball. We started running together, lifting together, and rebounding for each other in my driveway almost every day. My favorite part of our workouts was when we finished - we would just sit down and start talking, for what was sometimes over an hour. On hot days after a run, we would drive to the trout pond and jump in to cool off, and then race each other home in our cars. At that time, I wasn’t able to be with my friends a lot because of the stay-at-home order, so he was pretty much my only friend. Over the next few months, we started becoming closer and closer until we made it “official” on Valentines Day, 2021 (corny, I know). We quickly knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, and got engaged on Christmas, 2021. Now, we are both starting the next chapters of our lives in Grand Rapids, where I will be in medical school and he will be student teaching. I couldn’t be more thankful to be marrying my bestest friend, workout partner, and love of my life on 6/10/23!
