Mackenzie and Agustin’s story began at the University of Illinois in 2017… but not in a classroom. Two weeks before graduation, they both ended up at Red Lion as the last stop of the night on their respective bar crawls. They spent the night talking, laughing, and getting to know each other—then didn’t see each other again until after graduation, when Mackenzie asked Gus to ask her on a date. From there, life quickly filled with shared milestones and adventures. Mackenzie powered through nursing school while Agustin perfected his role as the professional chef of the household. Together they adopted two cats, Leo and Luna, who now run the house while graciously allowing Mackenzie and Agustin to live there too. Over the years, their life together has been full of memories: first jobs, moving apartments, training for races, concerts, travel, and plenty of nights spent watching questionable movies. What started as a chance meeting at Red Lion turned into a partnership filled with laughter, love, and just the right amount of chaos. Now, they’re excited to begin their biggest adventure yet—getting married!!!
