Our relationship began like many modern love stories do - on Hinge… yes, Hinge lol. Payton actually matched with me first, and what started as a simple swipe quickly turned into something much more meaningful. Somewhere between analyzing each other’s profiles and noticing our shared love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we both figured this might be worth more than just a few messages. For our first date, Payton took me to McAlister’s (a bold but respectable first-date choice) and then suggested walking around the Texas A&M campus - which, according to him, is basically a historical landmark that every person should experience at least once. Since I had never been before, I agreed. Between the sweet tea, wandering around campus, and Payton proudly pointing out approximately everything related to A&M, we quickly realized how easy it was to talk to each other. Hours passed like minutes, and it didn’t take long for us to discover we had a lot in common - we both love Jesus, good food, and, of course, our dogs. Honestly, once the dog stories started, there was no turning back. Even though our relationship started off a little long distance, the 90 miles between Houston and College Station couldn’t keep us apart for long. One of our favorite early memories happened in the most unexpected place: the Whataburger drive-thru. After leaving a church conference one night, we pulled in for a late-night patty melt (because obviously). While waiting in that famously slow drive-thru line, Payton looked over and told me he loved me for the very first time. From that moment on, our love took off exponentially. Exactly 366 days after we first met, he surprised me with what I thought was just a normal anniversary dinner. He suggested we take a walk in the park before we went to dinner across the street. What I didn’t know was that he had been secretly planning something much bigger. As we walked, he pulled out the sweetest letter and read it to me - the kind that makes you laugh, cry, and try not to ruin your makeup all at the same time. Then, before I even had time to process it all, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. The answer was the easiest “yes” of my life. Now here we are, getting ready to start this next chapter together. Looking back, we can see God’s hand in every step of our story. None of this could have happened without the incredible love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has truly been the provider, the guide, and the cornerstone of our relationship! We are so excited to celebrate this season with all of our friends and family. Your love, support, and presence mean the world to us, and we truly cannot imagine celebrating this day without each and every one of you! 🤍 Love, The Bursons
