THE SCHAFFERS

After graduating college in 2018, Gavin moved home to Pennsylvania to be closer to family, while Mackenzie moved to Pennsylvania and had never lived further from family. One year later, friends convinced both Mackenzie and Gavin to join Hinge, the "latest and greatest" dating app. Though both were doubtful, it was within a week that Mackenzie and Gavin matched on the app. One whole month of texting, social media, and FaceTime turned into a first date for Mackenzie and Gavin at Springhouse Brewery in Lancaster, PA. They sat at the bar and talked for hours. A few beers, brisket mac n cheese, and chicken quesadilla later, Mackenzie and Gavin were interrupted by the bartender telling them it was closing time and they needed to leave. Time flies when you're having fun, right? 2.5 years later, they had adopted Toby, moved to Charlotte, and bought a house. Then on a spontaneous trip to Charleston, SC in February 2022, it seemed Gavin was getting sick. He was cold, shaky, with clammy hands. Turns out, he was just nervous. Soon enough on a walk through the park, Gavin got down on one knee and asked Mackenzie to marry him. Then to kickstart their wedding year, Gavin and Mackenzie adopted Tucker, making them a family of 4. Over the years, the two have shared countless memories. They have laughed and cried, had movie nights at home and traveled to new cities together. The love and support that Mackenzie and Gavin share is endless. The soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Schaffer are excited to tie the knot on October 6, 2023. They look forward to a forever full of laughter, love, and adventure together.
