WE ELOPED!

APRIL 25, 2020

Yes, the facebook status is true! I'm a Homerding now. But it's not stopping us from having our big, fun, public ceremony and celebration! Our new wedding date has been decided and it will go on. We hope you'll still join us to celebrate our new marriage, eat some yummy food and play some fun lawn games.

How We Met

Game Night

Forrest and MacKenzie met at a mutual friends game night that they put together to introduce MacKenzie and their cousin, which wasn't Forrest. After a few games everyone all headed outside for s'mores! Forrest tripped and almost fell into the fire and cracked a joke that went a little something like this, "Oh no, I almost fell into the fire. That wouldn't be good because then we'd have a Forrest fire!!" That was it. That was when he had MacKenzie's full attention. A good joke. Forrest went inside and MacKenzie followed him and she sat in the living room while he stood in the kitchen talking with friends. Forrest told a touching story and MacKenzie sat there crying then walked up to him to give him a hug. A complete stranger still at this point. After a sweet moment with a stranger Forrest said, "I have a word for you. Oh, and by the way my names Forrest." She looked at him and said, "Okay let's talk out here, and I'm MacKenzie." Forrest and MacKenzie spoke outside on the porch under the light while everyone sat by the fire most likely watching. Forrest gave her a big conviction that probably would have made most girls cry or at least slapped him. Instead MacKenzie look him right in the eyes and said, "Thank you, I needed that. Let's finish this conversation later. When are you leaving?" He looked at her like she was crazy but told her he was about to leave. As he was getting into his car MacKenzie followed him and walked right up to his window saying, "I'll follow you to your place, okay?" The rest is history. They had about a 4 hour conversation that night and haven't spent a day apart since.
