Our story began in 2020 during the fall semester of college when we found ourselves in the same friend group. We spent countless hours together laughing, hanging out, and getting to know one another without realizing that something special was quietly unfolding. What started as a sweet friendship slowly grew into something more! One day after class, Justin asked Mackelle to hang out. From that moment on, we began falling more and more in love. Before we knew it, our days were filled with ice cream dates, little adventures just off the USF campus, and simply choosing to spend as much time together as possible. Whether we were exploring Sioux Falls, driving around with no real destination, or sitting and talking for hours. Every moment felt easy, fun, and meaningful. Those simple days of choosing each other over and over again became some of our favorite memories and built a strong foundation for our relationship. After two years at USF, our relationship was tested as we began three years of a long distance relationship. It was one of the greatest challenges we’ve ever faced.  Marked by missed moments, tearful goodbyes, and long stretches of time apart. But through it all, long distance taught us how to truly prioritize one another, communicate deeply, and grow both individually and together. The distance never weakened our love. Instead, it strengthened it and showed us just how committed we were to building a life side by side. Looking back, it’s impossible not to see God’s hand in every part of our story. How else do you explain ending up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota after growing up in Mesa, Arizona? What once felt unexpected became one of the greatest blessings of our lives. Life together has been full of laughter, growth, and countless trips back and forth between the Midwest and Arizona. One of the greatest blessings along the way has been watching our families grow so close. The love, support, and encouragement we’ve received from both sides means more to us than words can express. We are incredibly thankful for every friend, family member, and moment that has played a role in our journey. Our story is truly a love story designed by God, and we can’t wait to continue writing the next chapters together!
