Air Travel
If you are traveling by airplane, we recommend flying into Florence or Pisa and then renting a car, taking a taxi or carpooling to Greve in Chianti. The nearest airport is Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola (FLR) – 26 miles (1 hour) from the venue. Pisa (PSA) airport is about an hour and a half. You can often find much cheaper flights into either Milan Malpensa (MXP) or Roma Fiumicino (FCO) -- both 2-3 hours away by train. Once you land, follow signs for trains and book a ticket to "Firenze Santa Maria Novella" train station at one of the machines or counters.

Bus (Public Transportation)
The bus terminal in Florence is located to the left of the Santa Maria Novella train station at Via Santa Caterina di Siena 17. You can purchase your bus ticket for Greve at any time prior to departure.

Renting a Car
If you intend to explore the Tuscan countryside or want more flexibility with travel, we suggest renting a car during your stay. Some notes if you are considering this option: - Your rental will automatically be a manual unless you select ‘automatic transmission’. Please confirm this before and after booking as automatic cars are not popular and more scarce to rent. We suggest you book well in advance. - It’s best to pick up and drop off your rental car at the airport you fly in and out of or nearby Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station. - If you decide to rent a larger car to accommodate your group and/or luggage, please bear in mind that most of the roads in cities and towns are narrow - so driving a larger vehicle may be more challenging! - Basic Collision Damage Waiver car insurance is mandatory and typically comes with the rental. This protects you against any liabilities such as injury to others, property damage, or even death. It is HIGHLY recommended to get both the “Collision Damage Waiver” insurance AND “excess insurance” or “zero deductible coverage” through the rental company itself which you can do upon booking or upon receiving your vehicle. - This is a helpful website that will guide you further on renting a car in Italy: https://untolditaly.com/renting-a-car-in-italy/. - This is a good website to look for car rentals: https://www.autoeurope.com/. Be on the lookout for 2 traps: - They use cameras to issue speeding tickets throughout the area (Carl learned this the hard way) – so stick to the speed limits! Thankfully, Google Maps now shows the location of these cameras. - Do not drive in the Florence central district. All drivers who do will be ticketed. Do not rely on taxis, as they can be unreliable in Tuscany. You will need to prearrange all travel if you do not intend to rent a car.

Our wedding planning team can help you coordinate a shuttle service to pick you up from the airport or train station and take you directly to your accommodation. Please email Lauren@forloveoflove.com to inquire about these details. Prices are more favorable with large groups, so we will do our best to coordinate! Please note, you will need to book any small or large shuttles/transportation through our planners at least 3 months in advance of the wedding.
