Arguably the most beautiful restaurant setting in Santa Barbara, the Boathouse sits on the sand at Hendry’s Beach, amidst the bluffs. Large beachside patio with giant fire pit, inside/outside bar with fabulous cocktails.
Butterfly Beach is easily accessible from Downtown Santa Barbara via 10-minute drive or 15-minute bike ride. From Santa Barbara, follow Highway 101 to Olive Mill Road, which turns into Channel Drive. As you near the shoreline, Channel Drive will bend to the left. Park on either side of Channel Drive or on Butterfly Lane if Channel Drive is full.
Inspiration Point is a 3.4 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Santa Barbara, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, nature trips, and mountain biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

The Funk Zone is a unique Santa Barbara arts, culture, business, and industrial district between State Street and Garden Street, and Montecito Street to Cabrillo Boulevard. This amalgamation of historical marine structures, industrial lots, and houses has a unique history in manufacturing, lumber, citrus, produce, and fishing. Over the years, many artists have found creative freedom by carving out studio spaces in this “funky” area of Santa Barbara, and so have wineries, restaurants, art galleries, and shops.
Six trails ranging from a ¼-mile loop to 12 miles can be explored within the Cachuma Lake Recreation Area. All are shared-use trails (allowing hiking, biking and horseback riding) unless otherwise noted below, and most require a day use fee. Within a 15-minute drive or less, you can also access multiple trailheads in Los Padres National Forest.
