Mack and I go way back to Lewis Central—he was older, and I had the biggest crush on him but never worked up the nerve to say a word. More than ten years later, he spotted me driving a big F-250. He says I was sitting at a stoplight and then took off like a bat out of hell—he knew exactly who I was. He found me on social media, I recognized him right away, and of course I added him back. We started messaging, got our kids together, and spent time hanging out. But with his career in Sioux City, the timing and distance just weren’t right, and we stayed friends. Then he moved back to Council Bluffs and reached out again—and this time felt different. He was here to stay. We started dating seriously, and within a month he told me he was going to marry me. I told him I’d probably allow it 😂 He’s my best friend. The calm to my storm. The steady when the Earth shakes. He’ll go on any wild adventure I dream up, never trying to hold me back—just making sure he’s right there beside me. He is my safe place, the love of my life, and more than we ever imagined we could have. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter together
