It was the first day of classes. I walked into my History class not realizing I was walking right into my future. The only seats that were by themselves were front row and back row, and I didn't want to be one of "those" students. I sat in the middle next to a boy and a girl. I was already very homesick and did not want to talk to anyone. I introduced myself to the girl and then sat quietly hoping class would start soon so I wouldn't have to talk to the cute boy next to me. But thankfully I was not saved by the bell, the cute boy turned and said, "Hey, my name's Austin." And really the rest is History!

Austin had come to KC for New Year's Eve and we were wrapping up our Christmas Break walking around the Plaza. Zach, Emmalynn, and their kids had already left and the rest of my family was maybe meeting us for dinner that night. Little did I know, Austin had a different plan. I was shopping (typical), while Austin was texting all of my family scoping out the plan that we would be at the Nelson Atkins Museum shortly. We were up the big steps deciding which part of the museum to go to first. Then Austin grabbed my arm and made me stop, he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring. I gushed with several "oh my gosh's" and "yes's" as he tried to put the ring on my finger. The moment was perfect, but I couldn't stop myself from being the sassy girl that I am and said, "Austin you have to ask me first." So of course Austin asked I said yes it was beautiful. Then I realized all of my family, my cousin, and Austin's mom were there to support and love us. It was a lovely affair and a great way to start 2020.
