Tryon Palace is one of North Carolina's best-known historic homes and one of the most popular things to do in New Bern! New Bern was also North Carolina’s first permanent capitol- check out Tyron's Palace to learn more.
The waterfront at Union Point Park is a wonderful spot to catch the sunrise and watch boats as they pass by. This is where the Neuse and Trent River meets! It's a cute little area to see some seriously pretty sunsets, and get the costal feel of New Bern.
The Birthplace of Pepsi, located in historic New Bern, North Carolina, is the actual site where Caleb Bradham first invented Pepsi-Cola in his pharmacy in 1898.
Family-owned and -operated since 1898, Mitchell Hardware has everything you need, as a good general store should! Want to bring something home from New Bern- this is the place to look! They have everything from planters (if you know Sam, you know she loves gardening stuff), old school candy, tools, and kitchen gadgets. This is one of our favorite places to stop by when we're in town.
Cypress Hall is one of our favorites! Pop in for a fun cocktail, and some yummy southern food.
Inspired by the jazz clubs of the Roaring Twenties, Baxter's 1892 is a classic restaurant & cocktail bar. This lounge used to be a jewelry store in the 1920's and has kept the jewelry/watch store feel! If you want to jump back in time, check out Baxter's for light bites and drinks.
Hands down, BEST breakfast! For our Pennsylvania folks- this is a must check out breakfast spot.
If you're in the mood for seafood, check out MJ's!
