We actually met in the most unlikely of places....Hinge.com! I (Macie) was in my last semester at Baylor, and Tyler was working as a nurse in the cardiovascular ICU in Dallas. Though I enjoyed talking to Tyler and thought he was very handsome, I didn't think I would ever meet him considering he lived an hour away and I was about to move to Louisiana for medical school. However, he was very persistent! He would call me after all his shifts and we would talk for hours. He was eager to come to Waco to take me on a date, and I was eager to meet him too. During our conversations, I had mentioned a lecture I had had about the pathophysiology of the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus, knowing he would be interested by it too! As nerdy as it sounds, watching that lecture on my laptop was our first date... And the rest was history! We truly fell in love within the first month and have been best friends ever since. We got engaged shortly after our 1 year anniversary at the top of Angels Landing mountain in Zion, Utah. It was truly one of the most incredible days of our life! Fast forward to now, I am in my 3rd year of medical school living in Alexandria, Louisiana. Tyler was blessed to start a new job as a medical device sales representative in Dallas. We certainly would rather be close together, but the distance has made for many meaningful trips to see one another. Following my graduation from medical school in May of 2027, we plan to move wherever I start my residency training (ideally close to home in Texas)! Through the distance and many life changes, we have truly been each other's rock, always pointing each other back towards Jesus. We cannot wait to begin our family as husband and wife!
It is our greatest hope that our wedding and marriage be a reflection of the gospel. After all, there is no way we could have found each other through a silly little dating app without the grace of God. As we have fallen in love with each other, we have both grown to better understand the infinite, unending, perfect love of Jesus Christ. It is our prayer that that kind of love is evident throughout our wedding and marriage. We can't wait to share our love for each other and Jesus with you on our special day! We ask that you continue to pray for us and our union. "Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." 1 John 4:11
