It was our sophomore year of college. Neither of us expected to find each other, but that isn't what God had in mind. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Macie and I had Professor Thompson's Acts and Epistles class together. We sat on opposite sides of the room, and didn't talk at all, until one day, when Professor Thompson made everyone change seats. He told us, "Find a new spot to sit, next to someone you don't usually sit with." Macie had already found her way to a spot, so I told my friends, "I am going to sit next to Macie." I can still remember her beautiful blue eyes looking up from behind her phone to watch me sit next to her. That day didn't just change my semester, but changed my life. The rest of the semester we continued to sit next to each other, and over Christmas break we couldn't stop texting one another. Although nothing was serious yet, I wanted our relationship to grow, so I mustered up the courage to write Macie a letter. When we were both back to school after Christmas break, I asked Macie to meet up with me, and on a frigid January 21st, I received the warmest hug of my life. I gave her my letter, and she ran off to read it. This lead to our first date on January 27th! On that date I asked her, "What was your reaction when I sat next to you in class?" She responded, "All I could think was, 'He knows my name?'" From that day on God has blessed us with a beautiful Christian relationship, centered on our Lord Jesus who loved us first.
