We're Getting Married!

Carter and Maci started their freshman years at Butler in 2020... the height of the pandemic where it became unbelievably hard to recognize and meet people. However, before leaving for Christmas Break, Maci's roommate saw Carter in the dining hall - immediately knowing he was Maci's type. But of course, they had no way of recognizing him other than his dark, curly hair hanging out the back of his hat. Later that week when Maci and her roommates walked back from dinner, they stop her and say "that's the cute guy from Plum!" Low and behold.. Carter was walking in front of them. Instead of continuing up to their second floor room, a roommate followed Carter to his dorm to catch his name on his door tag. Being idiots, all four roommates followed both Carter and his roommate at the same time on Instagram. Fast forward to Christmas Break, Carter decided to add the "hot roommate" as he says, on snapchat. Maci responded, but after just a few snaps back and forth.. they were smitten. After days and days of Carter begging to FaceTime Maci, she finally gave in and they FaceTimed for hours. Never running out of things to talk about, they FaceTimed for hours the next night and then the next night and the next. Both realizing they couldn't wait four more weeks to meet when break was over, they planned their first date. A week later, they decided to meet back in Indy for a day full of fun. Starting with Chikfila for lunch, then moving to ice skating in Carmel where Carter quickly impressed Maci with his inability to ice skate! After that, Carter took Maci to her favorite Mexican restaurant, Luciana's, before going downtown to look at the beautiful Christmas lights at Monument Circle (where he four years later popped the question!!!). Ending with a Butler Basketball Win and soaking up some Hinkle Magic, it went down in history as the best first date ever.... and the rest is history!
