Machelle's Version: It all started when I was a sophomore in college and one of my sorority sisters had some interest in Connor, which duh why wouldn't she? It was a Thursday night and, like most Thursday nights, we went out. I was trying to be a wing-woman for her to get them together. However, Connor had little interest in her and talked to me that night. I thought it was a little weird, but didn't really think too much about it. A few days passed, and he got my number from another sorority sister and started texting me. I didn't really entertain it and shot it down and said "girl code" I shouldn't be texting you because my sorority sister likes you. He continued to tell me that he had no interest in her but wanted to get to know me but I was still very hesitant. A few days passed, and multiple friends reiterated that he was really into me and that I should go for him, which I am obviously very thankful for! I decided to take a chance and texted him "What are you doing tonight?" and the rest is history! I knew I wanted to go to school out of state and that something was pulling me to that specific school, and now I know why :). I am so incredibly thankful for the decisions I have made that led me to be with such a kind, ambitious and good looking man...even though it took him 8 years to propose to me;) Can't wait to marry this man! Connor's Version: It was Sept 8th of 2016 at around 10pm. Like most Thursday nights in College, a group of guys and I started the night out at Muddy Creek BBQ. They had 2 for 1s on drinks, so it was always the spot to get things going and, specifically, their patio out back. In walks Machelle with some of her friends. I remember she had a white tank top and a tan skirt on. I don’t get impressed very easily, but that was how I felt at the moment. She stood out from a lot of the other girls. We had some brief conversations that night, but probably not more than 5 or 10 minutes. The following week, I had texted her about going out with our group, and she wasn’t really interested, so I left it alone at the time. Another week passed, and she sent me a text asking about my plans for the weekend. I was a bit surprised but also had a sneaky suspicion the whole time that I would eventually get that message. That was the start of the magical 8 years that were to follow.
