We met in Owensboro, Ky when both of us were around 9 years old. Joseph lived on the same street as my grandparents, Mimi and Mac, and every summer my family would go visit. My sister, Mallory, and I, could never wait to go to Owensboro so we could hang out with the "Mills Boys". We spent many summers playing 'Kick the Can', swimming and climbing the tree in my grandparent's front yard. As we got older, we always kept in touch and went on to go to the same college. Joseph was a Farmhouse at Western Kentucky and I was an Alpha Xi Delta. The very beginning of senior year, my sorority and his fraternity were paired together for a bid day mixer. We happened to run into each other that night and the rest is history!
After dating for a year and a half, Joseph just knew he would never find anyone as great as me :). He came up with an excuse to get me to Owensboro for a night (I didn't cooperate well, but he eventually got me there), so I could go out with him and his friends. My best friend Tori was in town and Joseph knew she had grown up around my grandparents; so he suggested we stop by their house to say hi. When we arrived at their house, I was soon told to go outside and look at the tree in the front yard. I thought it was somewhat strange, but did it anyway. I then saw the tree Joseph and I used to climb when we were little, lit up with Christmas lights. Carved in the center read, "Macey, marry me?". I obviously said "YES!" and now he's stuck with me forever! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you all soon!
