Matt and Alli met at the Saturday Open House in October of 2009, where they were both volunteer tour guides in the Admissions Office at SUNY Oswego. Matt was giving a tour when Alli first saw him and he made a funny joke to her while she just smiled. Later that day, they were both assigned to walk families to a different building, where they learned each others names. After the open house, Alli went right back to her room to search and friend Matt on Facebook while she told her friends she found her "FH" future husband... Matt and Alli both graduated from SUNY Oswego in 2013, Matt with his Bachelors and Masters and Alli with her Bachelors. Matt was offered a job during his senior year and moved back to Syracuse to obtain his CPA and begin working. Alli stayed in Oswego to complete her Masters degree. After she finished in August 2014, she moved home to substitute teach. After only 3 months, she realized she should start substitute teaching in Syracuse, as well as Broome County, so she could get paid to visit Matt, which led her to a long term sub position in Syracuse. So Alli moved in with Matt in November of 2014. They both continued to live and work in Syracuse until 2015 when Alli was offered an Admissions Counselor position at SUNY Oswego, back to where it started with her and Matt! After almost 9 years of dating, Matt proposed to Alli on the top of Mount McKenzie in Lake Placid, NY. That morning they went parasailing on Upper Saranac Lake and then tried to beat a rain storm and climb Mt. McKenzie. They did not beat the rainstorm, and with Alli complaining to turn around part way up (okay, most of the way up :) Matt continued to push her up the mountain. Once at the top, he got down on one knee and proposed! The climb down was certainly more fun than the climb up! Alli and Matt will be married where they met, in Oswego, NY on Sept. 27, 2019.
