What started off as a Girls' Night Out at a Bachelor Auction for Cancer Support Community Rochester, turned into one of the biggest nights of our lives. I (Macey) always wanted to go to the Bachelor Auction's just to experience it as it always looked like a good time. Plus it is a great way to donate to a great local cause. I had no expectations going into the night other than have fun with friends and have a few drinks. Little did I know that when Bachelor #3 took the stage, my life would never be the same. I am not sure if it was the Spider Man themed walk, the Trulys, the Maroon 5, or all of it. But before I knew it, I was bidding on this man I didn't know and ultimately winning a date with him. The rest of the night we spent talking, sharing phots of our cats, and the rest is history!
We took a trip down to South Carolina to visit Sam's brother Nick, his wife Amelia and their baby girl Kins. Sam was acting nervous the whole trip down. I wasn't sure if he was just a very nervous flyer or what. This was our first time vacationing together so I had no idea what to expect. We made it to South Carolina with no issue, until it came to picking up our rental car. It took FOREVER to finally get our car. This did not help Sam's nervousness. Once we finally got our car, we decided to explore Greenville a bit and made a stop at a Cancer Survivor's Park. Sadly, it was kind of raining at the time so I was not 100% thrilled about walking around outside. However, we had just been sitting for hours so, a little walk wasn't a horrible idea. We drive to the park. We get out of the car, and start walking around the park. As we are walking over one of the bridges in the park, Sam stops and claims he has to tie his shoe... he never unties said shoes, and they never come untied... As he's tending to his shoe, I'm just looking around the park. Then he calls me over, stays down on one knee, said some beautiful heartfelt things and then popped the big question. (Not going to lie, I don't remember everything he said, too nervous!) The first person to say congratulations to us, was a little lady also walking around the park that day. I couldn't stop smiling and staring at my ring. It was the best beginning to our first trip together!
