Our love story

We were just 14 and 15 years old when we first fell in love. It wasn’t a perfect romance but it was our kind of perfect. We battled a long distance relationship for two and a half years at such a young age. People thought we were nuts but, love is love and we knew it was right. Devon and his family moved back to Virginia after already being stationed there before (fate? We think yes) and thankfully, we ended the long distance chapter. We spent two years in Virginia going to rival high schools but seeing each other every second we got the chance to. Once Macenzie graduated from High school She decided to go to Arizona State for her undergrad and we didn’t want to be separated again so Devon came along for the journey. We have grown so much together and have learned so much about each other throughout the years. And now we are getting married! We are so excited to be combining our families into one and most importantly to spend the rest of our lives together.

Our engagment

YAHTZEE

On thanksgiving day, almost everyone from Devon’s side of the family was in town. We had thanksgiving dinner and everyone was hanging out! Eventually everyone wanted to play Yahtzee (Macenzie initially didn’t even want to play). So everyone gathers round this big table and we started to play Yahtzee. Having everyone in one room is kind of hard when you have such a big family! Macenzie didn’t even notice that everyone was all in that room literally just watching their every move. One round of Yahtzee goes by and someone said “wow this round is going by super fast” (once again Macenzie was so oblivious). When the first round was almost over Devon nervously goes into his pocket and Macenzie is right next to him and didn’t even notice! It’s finally Devon’s turn to roll and Macenzie is trash talking him and then all of a sudden she realized there was a die missing. Then she realized there was a ring and then Devon was on his knee. Devon says “I know I’m not Kris Bryant but, I hit a homerun with you.” Tears were flying everywhere and Macenzie said “YES!” (Well eventually she kinda forgot about that part). The most special thing was that there was so much family and love in that room. We can’t wait to combine our families and celebrate with everyone!
