It all started with the question, "Wanna Play Tag?". When Cassie moved to Knoxville she joined a dance studio, Knox Dance Worx, which was run by Mason's Aunt. She quickly became close with the Martins and Shankles and saw the studio as a home away from home. Little did she know her dance family was going to become her actually family sixteen years later. In December of 2012, Cassie and Lillie Martin were Performing a duet in New Orleans whilst visiting the Martin's family at their Christmas Party. Cassie and Lillie fully decked out with Christmas novelty all over them arrived at the party and were eagerly greeted by Mason, who has been waiting for somebody to finally say yes to his motion of a game of tag. From then on Cassie and Mason saw each other at the studios' dance recitals. Mason would help backstage with all of the props while Cassie was dancing on stage. One of the most memorable recitals Mason ended up creating a fire in the greenroom. Note, always add water to Mac-N-Cheese packs. After Recitals, with a group of friends they would spend the next couples days indulging in summer fun. Anywhere from swimming in the lake to riding rollercoasters at Dollywood. This tradition carried on into their high school years until junior year. Afterwards they communicated merely through sloth videos and photos ever so often. Until the summer of 2021... Years had passed but for these two they picked up right where they left off. It felt like any other summer reunion from years before filled with laughter, adventures, but with a new feeling... love.
