..and so it begins

Jul'12 Greg was new in Olean so his co-worker invited him to happy hour. Elizabeth, not known to miss a happy hour, was there. They met for the 1st time but as time & fate would have it, Elizabeth had to return to Ithaca College. Jul'13 Elizabeth was back in Olean for grad school—it's worth noting that Greg was living with Elizabeth's friend & study-buddy. Elizabeth would study at their place & Greg would try charming her with homemade Chicken Parm. If you know Elizabeth you might be wondering why the engagement didn’t happen here—she is! Jul'14 Elizabeth's mom met Greg at a grad party. After, Mary asked 'Who was that nice boy? Why don't you date HIM?' There were several eye-rolls from Elizabeth, but Mary continued to suggest Greg as a suitor any chance she had for the next year. Meanwhile, Greg was back home in Newark NY with his grandma showing her a photo of Elizabeth & claiming she'd be his girlfriend. He was right but he'd have to wait, as time & fate were still not on their side. Elizabeth moved to Boston! Dec'14 Elizabeth was home for Christmas when the two ran into each other at a bar. With a little liquid courage they arranged a 1st date for the next night! Untimely, she had to return to Boston the next day. Nov'15 Greg had time off work & asked his jet-setter friend, Elizabeth, for travel ideas. With ulterior motives to see Greg, she encouraged him to visit Boston—"it's so historical." He agreed & drove all the way to see “Boston”. He later changed the story to say he “had to go see about a girl" Dec'15 Time & fate finally get it together & so do Greg & Elizabeth—& Mary got to say I told you so! Feb'16 While flying home from a work trip, Greg arranged a 1.5 hr layover in Boston, tacking a mere 8 hrs on his trip to be in person to say 3 famous words for the 1st time! Mar'16 Greg moved to Pittsburgh for a new job. Aug'16 The other 3 famous words? Long distance stinks. Elizabeth moved to Pittsburgh! May'18 1st apartment! Jan'19 1st house! Feb'19 Engagement!
