Built by the Spanish in 1875, The Castillo De San Marcos is the oldest fort in the United States. Chris and I love to visit this monument every time we come to Saint Augustine. We love to stroll along the walkway, while over looking the bridge and sailboats when the museum is closed. We took a few of our engagement photos here on the north lawn! You can tour inside Castillo De San Marcos 7 days a week 9am-5pm
Standing tall at 165 feet this active working lighthouse is sure not to disappoint. Trust us, this is worth the climb up the spiral staircase to the top providing the most beautiful sights over the nation's oldest ports.
The Lightner Museum was once a hotel that catered to the wealthiest tourists who traveled south for the winter. At the time the hotel had the world's largest indoor swimming pool; however, after years as an elegant winter resort for wealthy patrons, the hotel closed in 1932, but now is open to the public as a museum. This is one of our favorite places to tour inside and out with is breathtaking architecture!
One of our favorite historic restaurant right in the heart of downtown Saint Augustine. Sit outside in their beautiful tropical garden patio or ask to be seated on the outdoor balcony overlooking the bridge. We love to stroll streets in old town after dinner where most of the locals live. Parking is available in lot next to restaurant.
My absolute favorite Boutique on the Island! They sell adorable mommy-and-me matching swim sets and also have the best selection of big summer hats. There is also surf store that is attached for rentals and has great selection of beach wear and flip-flops.
Hands down our favorite beach bars to visit here in Saint Augustine for an early or late afternoon lunch. Worth the wait to put your name in for a table! Grab a cocktail at the bar and sit in the Adirondack chairs in the sand while you wait. Afterwards, take a stroll on the beach and enjoy the fresh ocean breeze and white sand. Parking is limited but available in a lot next to restaurant.
This reserve is a dynamic ever changing place with many interconnected habitats from the ocean to the forests. One of 29 National Estuarine Research Reserves in the country, this landscape protects and provides for a great diversity of plants and animals. A peaceful place to unwind and enjoy nature!
