Things To Do

Fort Knox and Penobscot Narrows Observatory

Fort Knox and Penobscot Narrows Observatory

Fort Knox Historic Site and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observatory are open 9am to 5pm. The Fort itself remains open an hour later than the observatory. Grounds are open until sunset, weather-depending. Pets are welcome everywhere (except in the Observatory) if on a 4'-6' leash, cleaned up after, and not a nuisance to other guests. Fort Point State Park

Fort Point State Park

State Park Road, Stockton Springs, ME 04981
, (207) 567-3356

Picnic tables with a waterfront view, pier and floats for fishing and boating, and access to a scenic bicycling trip are some of the top reasons to visit Fort Point State Park. Located about three miles off U.S. Route 1 in Stockton Springs, Fort Point State Park occupies a long peninsula with panoramic views of the Penobscot River and Penobscot Bay. On its 120 acres, the park features more than a mile of rocky shore, a tidal sandbar, and diverse habitat for a variety of plants and animals. Open 9am to sunset.

, 207-322-5530

Colonial Theatre

Colonial Theatre

163 High Street, Belfast, ME 04915
, (207) 338-1930

A movie theatre on the National Register of Historic Places, but it is just so cool. Walking in is not like walking into a regular, run-of-the-mill movie theater. You can feel the history of the building as you walk through narrow doorways and go up or down stairs to get to the theater your film is showing in. You can see new movies here, but they also have special screenings of movies and documentaries that you won’t see anywhere. It’s right down the street from several restaurants in downtown Belfast, so you can make a whole night of it.

Delvino's Grill & Pasta House

Delvino's Grill & Pasta House

52 Main Street, Belfast, ME 04915
, (207) 338-4565

We love Delvino's for our fancier-date nights. If you're looking for quality Italian food (and a full bar!) with great weekly specials, Delvino's is our recommendation. We also recommend calling ahead to reserve a table if you aren't staying right in town!

Darby's

Darby's

155 High Street, Belfast, ME 04915
, (207) 338-2339

Another restaurant we love for a more-relaxed date night. Deliciously inspired enhanced comfort food in historic downtown Belfast. A “from scratch” kitchen, cooking with locally produced foods as seasons and availability permit. The full bar features fine wines, local, domestic, and imported beer, an inventive martini menu, and a handsome selection of single malt whiskey.

Alexia's Pizza

Alexia's Pizza

93 Main Street, Belfast, ME 04915
, (207) 218-7023

Our favorite casual-date and pizza place! A must-try if you're in Belfast.

United Farmers Market of Maine

United Farmers Market of Maine

18 Spring Street, Belfast, ME 04915
, (207) 218-7005

Open every Saturday from 9am-2pm, the biggest indoor farmer's market in Maine! I visit as often as possible and love picking up bakery goods (especially from CupKate's!), seafood, and interesting foods or oddities. Be sure to check it out if you're in town!
