Mac and Anna met just like any other young couple—through social media. Anna was in nursing school at Southern Miss and Mac was an ICU nurse in Hattiesburg. One day, Anna came across his instagram and decided to follow him, and shortly thereafter, Mac direct messaged Anna. 10 days later, they went on their first date to the Mahogany Bar, and the rest is history!

It was the weekend before Valentine’s Day and Mac had a surprise weekend planned for Anna. All she knew was that they were going to get drinks and have dinner, but she didn’t know where. A few days before, Mac mentioned going to the Botanical Gardens in New Orleans before their date. Anna had a small inkling that something might happen, but she didn’t think it would really happen on this day. While walking around the gardens, Mac stopped and said he had to “tie his shoe,” and he got down on one knee and pulled out the most gorgeous ring! Of course, Anna said yes! After the gardens, they went to Bar Marilou to celebrate over a couple of drinks, and then headed to eat at Josephine Estelle. Here, Anna’s family and Mac’s parents were already waiting at the table, taking Anna by complete surprise! It was the best day of their lives.
