Gunnar and I grew up together but we still can't pin point the exact moment we met. We had similar friend groups when we were young elementary kiddos. I thought Gunnar was a weird kid when meeting him in 4th grade, but he always had the most adorable, contagious laugh. And still does. I would say that our story began in middle school at Cheyenne Mountain Junior High. Gunnar and I were good friends, but nothing more. We were observing nature outside in our 8th grade science class. A boy came up to me and asked if it was a good idea for Gunnar to ask me out. Naturally, I said, "NOOOO! Don't let him because I will say no." But he told him to do it anyways.....and so he did. And I said no. Heart break #1. Fast forward to high school. Gunnar and I were still good friends and hung out every so often with our friend group. One evening, my dance studio had a recital and Gunnar so kindly came to support. Well... he came to support our friend Kai, but that's not really important. After the recital, a group of us high schoolers decided to go to the usual "hangout spot," the Kamppila's House. Sitting downstairs in their house, I remember thinking to myself that Gunnar had become extremely attractive. I then put on my game face and FLIRTED AWAY! I did EVERYTHING I could to make sure he knew I was into him. A couple days later, Gunnar asked me out in the halls of Cheyenne Mountain High School. I said yes! But hold on, don't get too excited yet. I ended up dumping him after 6 months. Heart break #2. Senior year came around and I realized how madly in love I was with Gunnar. But I knew I could never tell him and risk our friendship. Fast forward to college. Gunnar was living in Georgia and I was living in California. When summer of 2018 came around, we both went home to Colorado and decided to go hammocking in Strawberry Fields. That is when Gunnar told me that he had never stopped loving me and the rest is history. Gunnar's POV: I was always in-love with her.
