We met at a coffee shop in St. George, Utah in December of 2019. Tanner gave Maca Covid on their first date, something she will never let him live down. He waited to ask her how to say her last name for many many months. We spent the next year falling in love, moved in together in Cedar City, Utah in 2021, and now live in sunny Ventura, California where Maca dragged dear Tanner for residency! We are in love with the beach, with our puppy Junebug, and our new coastal life.

Let me set the scene... med school graduation weekend, the Basañes clan is in St. George, we go out for Mother's Day brunch and an elaborate ploy for pictures is hatched... Next thing I know Tanner is down on one knee, I am sobbing, and he is telling me I have to answer him.. To this day I don't remember him asking me the crucial question!!!
