Our Story

FALL 2017 - THE BEGINNING: But it REALLY began in the summer of 2016! Nathan and I both attended LIFE Conference in Kansas City, and out of 5,000 students, our youth groups were thrown together on a community service project. We only made this connection 2 YEARS LATER when we found a picture to prove it! 1ST YEAR @ CROWN COLLEGE: I was crazy outgoing and made friends left and right, while Nathan preferred to stick to his room, classroom, cafeteria, and gym. However, God always has a plan! This one ended up being an emergency appendectomy in October that ended in Nathan sitting out of basketball and forced to branch out a little with friends. Nathan became a part of our close knit friend group which consisted of some hard core UNO players and late night Taco Bell runs. Slowly we began spending more time talking, getting to know each other a little more each day. IMPORTANT NOTE: I had decided that my 1st year of college was going to be DATING FREE to focus on classes and friends, praying that the right guy would respect my wishes and wait patiently, and he did! Nathan waited around a whole year and more. Over Fall Break of our 2nd year, Nathan came home with me, endured a whole family road trip, asked my dad for permission to date me, and we started dating on October 12, 2018. We spent the next year encouraging each other through college life, and he even came and did ministry with my parents over the summer. 2ND YEAR @ CROWN COLLEGE: In the middle of a crazy semester of teaching kindergarten, preschool, swim lessons, other work on top of 20 credits, Nathan found an evening to take me out for a gourmet dinner at Culver's (per my week long request). On the way back he took a detour to a beautiful dock, decorated with lights. There, on November 19, 2019, Nathan asked me to be his wife, and best friend for the rest of his life. NOW: Here we are, planning a wedding! We are excited to seek and follow the Lord together on this path. Hope you can celebrate with us!
