Eric and Erin met through an online dating app, Bumble. A big Vikings fan, Erin was intrigued by Eric's profile where he claimed to be of the 1% of tolerable Packers fans living in Minnesota. Erin was skeptical of this claim but decided to give him a chance.
Our first date was on July 5th and many dates followed before we made the relationship official. We took it slow as we both knew I would be moving to San Diego in a few months. But as life would have it, before we knew it we were packing up my Chevy Cruze and moving me to San Diego. We figured a 3,000 mile road trip would tell a lot about where our relationship was headed. Thankfully, nobody was left on the side of the road or at a gas station and after many plane rides to visit one another and adopting a cat (Oliver) in San Diego, we packed up that same Chevy Cruze and I moved back to Minneapolis. How Eric convinced me to move away from the sunny beaches to the frozen lakes I'm still not sure. Maybe he really is that 1% of tolerable Packers fans in Minnesota...
We returned to San Diego for a short vacation in April and I knew it was the perfect place to propose with the "twist tie" ring I had picked out. Working with two of Erin's San Diego friends (shout out Courtney and Kaitlyn!) I planned our proposal on Windansea beach. While I struggled to form a coherent sentence, watching the video back later we could see (through Courtney's excited squealing) that I managed to remember to get down on a knee and Erin nodded in agreement to a life together.
