Back Story: Zach and Rachael Fortney would get together some nights for dinner while at Houghton College. One night in March he told her at dinner he had accepted the fact he wasn't going to have a girlfriend anytime soon. Before they parted ways that night, my name came to Rachael's mind. She told Zach about me and that she thought him and I we should meet. She also said there was no pressure but it would be great if we became friends. However, she thought we would be perfect together. Zach liked the description of me and was interested in meeting for the possibility of a friendship but had this feeling it wasn't the right time. So, he told her not to say anything about it to me yet. Alyssa on the other hand was getting through the hurt from her a relationship from a few months prior. In March, she surrendered and decided she wasn't going to be in a relationship for a while. She even had plans of finishing her fieldwork in the next month, getting her degree in the next 2 months, and getting a job at BOCES. April 3rd: Alyssa had just found out she had to discontinue her fieldwork until further notice due to COVID. She was upset to say the least since that would put off her graduation. On April 2nd, Rachael Fortney and Alyssa were texting and decided to video call the next day and catch up. The next day during the video chat Alyssa was telling Rachael about her her past relationship and how it didn't end well. That's when Rachael brought up Zach's name. She described him to me and said it would be great if we were friends but thought we would be perfect for each other. I agreed to meeting him that night in possibility of a friendship. Zach answered the call from Rachael after texting him that I wanted to meet him and we all talked for about an hour. Suddenly, Rachael abruptly had to go and left us alone. We both were terrified (and a little salty). But, we ended up talking for almost an hour and a half after she left. We've talked every night since then...
