We met on the night of the Big 10 Pennstate football game at the ever so popular bar, Levels, in downtown Scranton in December of 2016. My best friend, Jess, and I were watching the game when Jason walked into the bar and sat right next to us. After a while, Jason grew up the courage to ask me the very first question (this was of course when Jess finally decided to go to the bathroom so he took his chance). “Hey, I was just wondering, do you like sports?” said Jason. I replied with some hesitation and thinking in my head is this seriously the first question haha, “well I mean I could take it or leave it; I am here to support my best friend since she loves Pennstate!” For some reason this first question worked and it has been so much love ever since!
On a very beautiful and sunny sunday morning, Jason told me to get ready to go on a hike. We always joked around when he was going to ask me to marry him; however, there was never a known when it was going to happen. He always told me that adds on one more week anytime I would bring it up in a funny way. Jason did not tell anyone that he was asking me that day, but of course he did ask for multiple blessings from both sides of our families months prior so it was killing them, making them question when it was going to happen. Jason did not want to take our new puppy at the time, Kiyah, with us on the trip, but he is thankful that we did. To say the least Jason did make me work for it because we hiked a good 2 miles up and back down. We got to the top of the trail and he had me pick out a rock to write our names on. Kiyah decided to knock me over as we were leaning down by the rock I chose. I was not looking at the rock then and Jason quickly wrote on it “Will you marry me?” Once I brushed myself off and went to go write my name on the rock I was speechless and so was he haha His speech he prepared went out of his head and he said “I love you, will you marry me?” Of course I said yes and was so excited! As I wrote “yes” on the rock, Jason said his speech that he prepared and it was everything I imagined. My dream come true!
