We’re Getting Married!

Our story began in 2006 when Matt and Ian (Kelsey’s brother) were on the same baseball team. Matt joked about Kelsey hugging another guy to Mrs. McDonnell and Ian while carpooling to baseball (which was a big deal in 7th grade). A couple months later after our mom’s carpooled to baseball games and practices with Kelsey finding excuses to tag along, Matt asked Kelsey to be his girlfriend. That summer was filled with baseball games and many conversations on home phones... Their middle school relationship only lasted a few weeks according to Kelsey’s diary. They remained close friends through high school and college. Fast forward to 2018 when a Brittany Spear’s song (middle school inside joke) played at a bar Kelsey was at and she texted Matt. That text sparked us to where we are now. Matthew was living in Tennessee and Kelsey was finishing school in Peoria, IL. We started dating 9 hours apart and are now happily engaged 1 hour apart. Our wedding date not only closes that distance, but signals a life we’re looking forward to together.
