The steps of a righteous person are ordered by the Lord...and He sometimes uses eHarmony to do it. :) Lynnette's perspective: 10 years was a long time to wait for what would come next. But when I joined eHarmony, and my dear friends sat down to help me fill out my profile amidst prayer and laughter, I felt with great confidence that God was promising me I wouldn't have to wait much longer for what He had for me. From the moment I read David's profile, I knew how much He loved the Lord. It was at the center of his identity, and his heart was turned strongly toward Him. We started chatting, and the conversation flowed so easily, with a shared love of the Lord fueling an easy camaraderie, along with aligned geekiness to fan the flames. It wasn't long before he asked me to meet, and I did so gladly, hopeful for the potential I felt with every interaction. Right away, I felt so at ease with David; anyone who's met him for even five minutes can see the joy that bubbles out of him, his delight in life, his easygoing nature, and his Love of the Lord that drives everything he does. He came with a gift on that first date: a Funko Pop bobblehead of Batman, my all-time favorite superhero. Major brownie points! :) Since then, I have been so blessed by every single interaction we have, from the unique dates that we plan, and he's always down to try, to the mundane of sitting on the couch; there is nothing that is not better because he's there. The boys love him, my friends and family heartily approve, and I have NEVER felt so seen, so adored, so cherished, so loved. I am a blessed woman, and I cannot WAIT to become his wife and step into this next season of life with the partner that God designed just for me, oh so perfect for me. God is good!!! David's perspective: The Word of God declares that he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord (Prov. 18:22). I had an intense desire to be married but had no idea how to find a wife. At the time, I was enrolled in a Master's degree program in seminary and was working full-time during the graveyard shift. How was I to meet my future wife? I first tried a dedicated Christian dating site, but the results were disappointing. Then I heard of eHarmony (a dating website), which was highly rated. After several days of prayerful deliberation, I posted my profile on eHarmony. Initially, the results were less than stellar. However, in time, a gorgeous woman's profile kept popping up as a possible match. I clicked on her profile (yes, it was Lynnette's profile) and was instantly attracted to her. For one, she wrote of her relationship with Jesus in a living, vibrant way that only a true believer could describe. Second, her creative, fun-loving, hilarious, thoughtful, personal information opened a window into her beautiful soul, filling my heart with eager anticipation of getting to know her better. Third, when I contacted her, she responded promptly, and we immediately established phenomenal communication. From there, it was just one exhilarating experience after another...getting to know each other more intimately with each conversation. Soon, we had our first phone conversation, followed by our first date... When I saw Lynnette for the first time, my heart melted from sheer joy and wonder. I knew she was the one for me. I prayed briefly and asked the Lord to please give me this amazing woman as my wife. Time has done nothing but strengthen and improve our relationship. Every day, I am in awe of the gifts and graces God has deposited in Lynnette. I cannot wait to marry this wonderful woman I adore, and I greatly anticipate partnering with her in family life, work, ministry, fun, and beyond! The blessing of the Lord (His gift of Lynnette) makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow to it! (Prov. 10:22). Lynnette has brought the riches of God into my life in a full and meaningful way!
