Things To Do

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park

The West Yellowstone entrance is a 70 minute drive from Ennis. Our favorites include Grand Prismatic Overlook, Lamar Valley for wildlife, and Yellowstone River Falls. Worth doing if you have an extra day (or more!). Expect traffic in the park.

Ennis Lake

Ennis Lake

Take a beautiful drive out to the lake to swim at Kobayashi Beach, jump off the bridge, or hike from Trail Creek trailhead.

Virginia City

Virginia City

Historic western town 20 minutes from Ennis. Our recommendations include Cousin's Candy, Virginia City Creamery, and Bay of Hale Saloon. Call ahead for availability at the Brewery Follies (comedy is not for young kids) and Virginia City Players, the two theatrical productions in town.

Willy's Distillery

Willy's Distillery

Local distillery on Main Street with great cocktails and to-go bottles

Fly Fishing

Fly Fishing

Ennis and the Upper Madison River is an anglers' paradise. There are many fly shops in town that can help you have a great adventure on the river or there are public accesses to cast a line from the shore. MT Fishing License required. Catch and Release.

Horseback Riding

Horseback Riding

Cowboy up for a guided trail ride! Wolfpack Outfitters offer great horseback rides along scenic trails up through the mountains. Must book in advance.

Ennis Farmers Market

Ennis Farmers Market
