A rainy day, Paris. Claude sought shelter under an awning, when he noticed Lynn, waiting for someone to light her cigarette... Just kidding, we met on Tinder. Lynn wrote in French on her profile and Claude responded, "Did you match me with me because I have a French name?" After a few messages, he asked her out, at which point she promptly stopped responding. So he tried one more time. "So we still on for Wednesday?" This time she responded. They sat in a cozy corner of The Royal Room Bar in Tucson. They found they shared a mutual fondness for some of the worst music ever recorded (folk punk: do not Google). After a few dates, the world shut down. COVID-19. They were faced with a decision. Fortunately, it was an easy one: they decided to risk it and stay together despite the quarantine (following proper safety protocols, of course), and the rest is history: they binge-watched Love is Blind, ordered Bloody Mary's to-go (covid was weird), sat together in parks, watched movies, but mostly laughed and talked and laughed and talked, until when the time came for Claude to move across the country to West Virginia. Lynn decided it was worth it to (sort of) follow him to Pittsburgh. After two years they decided to return to Tucson and in the winter of 2024, Claude proposed to Lynn. It may not be a traditional or hopelessly romantic love story, but it is OUR love story, and we wouldn't change a thing.
