La Santisima Gourmet Taco Shop

This place is our favorite stop for tacos and burritos. Brandon loves the Cochinita Pibil burro and Lynn loves the Veggie burro. The salsa bar will rock your socks! You will have to drive to get here.

Federal Pizza

Hip and trendy with equally delicious specialty pizzas. Random Fact: this pizza joint got its name from the Federal Bank building it now occupies. This place is not too far of a walk from the Camelback light rail station.

The Newton

This is a fun place to go browse the book store at Changing Hands, sit and get a coffee at First Draft... Southwest Gardener is a shop to find unique gifts! This unique shopping complex is not too far of a walk from the Camelback light rail station.

Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix

Light Rail information: When riding the Light Rail, exit at the Central and Roosevelt stop. The Garden is located on the west side of the rail, 0.3 miles from the station; it is directly behind the Irish Cultural Center (1106 N. Central Ave, Phoenix), just north of Portland Avenue. Mystery Castle

Tour Hours Tours are offered from 11am to 3:30pm on Thursday through Sunday each week. We are open from October through May. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12. Location The Mystery Castle is located in the Foothills of South Mountain Park (two miles south of Baseline Road). To visit, take 7th Street South to Mineral Road, then head east and follow the road to the Mystery Castle entrance. 800 E. Mineral Road, Phoenix, AZ 85040

Jerome

Since you will be traveling all the way out to Arizona, we hope you can take some time to travel the state. Jerome is a haunted mining town turned into a hippie artist town!
