Neal claims he swiped right on Lynette 2 years prior on Tinder but it wasn't until this date that Lynette was ready to meet him through another dating app - Coffee Meets Bagel. Coincidentally, their first date was over beer -- not coffee -- but that still hold true today for their preferences on one over the other.

They say that your 20s are your best years, but at this time Lynette was still living at home and Neal was at his first adult job. It took a good chunk of their 20s to get it together, adequately furnish an apartment, and figure out what they're (not) looking for. When Neal had offered Lynette a key to his apartment, it was not only an invitation to eat all his food, but to cook it too. But for a well-stocked kitchen and a man willing to open his home, she traded the key to her heart.

A Sunday like any other, Neal asked Lynette to go for a drive and explore San Diego. Since Lynette is a rare native to San Diego, there wasn't much she hadn't seen, but was willing to go so she could be lazy the rest of the day without nagging to leave the house. During the drive, Lynette started asking very subtle questions like, whether she should put a timeline on Neal popping the question, or if she should schedule a lunch between him and her Dad. At the top of a random hike, Lynette sat down on a bench to rest, but Neal got down on one knee instead. He will never admit how satisfying it was to have her eat her own words, but Lynette was able to exclaim "Yes!" all the same.
