Our Story as Told by Mason...

Lyndyn and I met in February of 2022 at an Alpha Delta Pi Valentine’s date party, where I saw her for the very first time in a beautiful red dress and managed to gather the courage to ask for her number. We parted ways after that, but eventually found ourselves spending time together in a study room in Pomfret Hall, right next to my classes and in the same building where Lyndyn lived her freshman year of college. Almost every day, we would meet up between my classes, talking, laughing, and getting to know each other better. Our dates were anything but traditional—whether it was grabbing Sonic or Whataburger, just strolling through Target, or watching videos on her laptop, every moment spent together was perfect. On March 12, 2022, I asked Lyndyn to be my girlfriend, and her yes was a moment I will always remember and cherish. She even stayed by my side through a 9-hour car ride to BYX Formal in San Antonio, just a month into our relationship. Since then, our lives together have been filled with so many special moments and adventures. We’ve explored the art exhibits at Crystal Bridges Museum, celebrated my senior year BYX Formal with a memorable trip to Chicago, and of course took countless trips to Sonic for our favorite pretzel twists and grilled cheese sandwiches. Fast forward to February 2024: I took Lyndyn to a diamond store in Fayetteville under the guise of just browsing, to figure out her ring size and the kind of diamond she’d like. Several months later, after moving back to McKinney, I knew it was time to take the next step and ask Lyndyn to be my wife. After saving up for a while and visiting many jewelry stores, I found the perfect diamond with the help of my parents. Keeping the secret was a challenge, especially when you have a gift like this for your best friend. Lyndyn came to visit one final time before returning to Fayetteville for her senior year, and I planned to have her family, our friends, and my family all in town without her knowing so I could pop the question. On August 6, 2024, I asked Lyndyn Mosser to marry me and make me the happiest man in the world. Evidently, she said yes!

Our Story as Told by Lyndyn...

Mason and I met during my freshman year of college at a Valentine’s Day function for my sorority. We had mutual friends, so we chatted for a bit, and he asked me for my number before leaving. I remember thinking how sweet and respectful he was, even just in our brief encounter—which, unbeknownst to me, would change my life forever. Even before we met, Mason would hang out in the study room in Pomfret Hall or grab food at its dining hall in between his classes. I always joke that once Mason learned I lived in Pomfret, he didn’t want me to think he was just hanging around my dorm waiting for me; when he was there and would send me a Snapchat, I could tell he was trying to avoid capturing the background so I couldn’t tell where he was. So, one day, I decided to take some initiative and walk down to the study room I knew he was in. We watched videos on my laptop, laughed, and talked like we had known each other for years. Our first date, I like to say, was eating breakfast at Pomfret Dining Hall on a random Tuesday morning, and these meet-ups between his classes became something I looked forward to every day. During one of these meet-ups, I asked Mason if he’d want to run and grab a coffee with me. But when we made it to my car, the battery was dead and it would not turn on! In that moment, Mason called UAPD and had them there jumping my car before I could even say thank you. Another time, Mason helped me literally move dorms, no questions asked (and we weren’t even officially dating yet!) I soon realized that these acts of kindness weren’t just him trying to win me over, but an innate part of Mason’s character. After three and a half years of being together, Mason’s enthusiasm and willingness to help myself and others have never faltered, and to be loved and cared for by him has been one of my life’s biggest blessings. On March 12, 2022, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I was overjoyed! Since then, my life with Mason has been filled with so much love and many special moments, even through seasons of long distance. I have watched more sports in the last 3 years with Mason than in my first 19 years of life combined and listened to more 80s and 90s country music than I ever thought I would, but I wouldn’t change a thing. On August 6, 2024, Mason asked me to marry him, and I was completely surprised but overwhelmed with excitement. Mason and I are so excited and blessed to celebrate this new chapter with our family and friends, and we can’t wait to begin our lives together as a married couple!
