Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

The Rollins Mansion is close to many hotels in downtown Des Moines, as well as several other options close to the airport. Please see our travel page for hotel accommodations and shuttle information.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Uber and Lyft are always options for safe travel. The following hotels are offering free shuttle service to and from the mansion:

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is limited parking onsite at the mansion; there is also a large lot that is next door (just north of the mansion) that we have rented for parking.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP as soon as possible so that we can make the appropriate accommodations for our ceremony and reception. Due to Covid19, the Rollins Mansion staff has mandated that we will have assigned seating at both the ceremony and reception, so the earlier you rsvp, the easier it will be for us to place you!

Question

What safety precautions will be taken to help protect against Covid19?

Answer

If you are sick or not feeling well, please stay home. If you are a vulnerable person, please do not feel obligated to attend; your safety is far more important! We will be doing a modified receiving line; while we want to hug you or shake your hand, our venue has asked that we refrain. When your usher has dismissed you, please come through our receiving line and still extend your warm wishes, and then move forward inside to the mansion, and finally out to the beautiful terrace for our cocktail hour. We will have hand sanitizer available at several spaces throughout our venue. You may wear a mask if you feel more comfortable doing so, but please know we are not mandating that anyone must do this. All chairs and tables will be spaced 6 feet apart to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Assigned seating at both the ceremony and reception will assist in social distancing. Staff will be monitoring crowd sizes to ensure spaces inside meet state guidelines for social distancing.

Question

I can't make it to the wedding or I am concerned for my safety if I attend. Is there a way to still participate?

Answer

Yes! We have arranged for a videographer to film our ceremony live. You will be able to watch the ceremony live via a special Facebook live event. If you are unable to attend, we hope you will join us virtually.

Question

How can I watch your wedding ceremony virtually?

Answer

The ceremony will be live streamed via Facebook, so you will need a Facebook account. If we are not already friends, please friend me (Lyndsey Cole) and send me a message that you would like to be invited to the virtual ceremony. You will get an event invitation via Facebook which you will need to accept. You will then be able to watch the wedding ceremony live.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes. Please see our registry page for more information on our wedding registries.
