Yes, in line with current provincial government restrictions, you'll need to have two vaccinations to attend the wedding. The venues will require proof of vaccinations using the app and/or passport. We'll provide more details about what you'll need to provide proof as this is confirmed.
Due to limitations, children attendees are limited to wedding party participants and babes in arms. We understand it may be hard for you to travel without kids so you can choose to make use of Whistler's babysitting service during the wedding. For anyone who chooses this route, we've made arrangements for a party room to be set up close to the reception area. Contact Babysitting Whistler (babysittingwhistler.com) for details and pricing options, or check in with Lyndsey for details.
Flights from Fort St. John to Vancouver airport are approximately 1.5 hours. Then take a 1.5 hour bus from the airport or downtown Vancouver to Whistler. Visit the Travel tab at the top of this page for more information. Driving time from Dawson Creek to Whistler is approximately 12 hours. Please note Whistler is very walkable and you don't need to vehicle in the village once you arrive. We recommend making parking arrangements in advance as it can be expensive in some lots and a few budget lots are located around the village.
We have a room block reserved for guests at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler at a reduced rate. Please visit the Travel tab at the top of this page for details. If you find a cheaper rate on any other site, please let us know.
Whistler: weather and traffic on the Sea to Sky highway can be unpredictable, so we recommend giving yourself plenty of time in case of delays. Ceremony: please arrive by 1:30 pm. We'll have a waiting area inside so you don't get cold. Reception: please arrive by 5:15 pm to find your seat
The dress code is black tie optional. We want you to be comfortable, so feel free to wear whatever you like. The event will be a more formal affair so if you've been waiting to whip out that bow tie or splurge on a new dress, now is a great time to go for it. We'll have coat racks set up if you want to bring your winter jacket with you as you navigate Whistler weather in December.
Nope! Lyndsey believes the old tradition of not wearing white, black or matching the bridal party is one that needs to die with her single life. If this tradition is still important to you, the bridesmaids are wearing jewel tones and the groomsmen are in black suits.
We appreciate the time and money you're spending to come to our wedding so please don't feel like you need to bring us a gift. We put together a small registry to make it easier for those who may still want to give a gift. You can find the registry at the top of this page and you also don't have to purchase through the registry; feel free to take the ideas as suggestions and purchase from elsewhere if you prefer.
There is limited parking at the ceremony, but lots of paid parking across the street at the Fairmont and Crystal Lodge.
We want you to be present with us so our ceremony will be device-free. Feel free to take and post photos during the rest of the festivities.
