How We Met

May 9, 2016

On May 7, 2016, Cam and I both graduated from TCU with our bachelor’s degrees. I saw him walk across the stage and thought, “Gosh, he’s cute, too bad I never got to meet him.” Well, that would all change just two days later! On May 9, 2016, we both started our graduate program at TCU. I walked into Palko Hall wearing my Dallas Stars t-shirt, ready to catch the Stars playoff game later that night (which we won). At the beginning of class, our professor asked us to mix and mingle to meet our classmates. Suddenly, the guy I’d noticed at graduation was walking up to me...it was Cam! He asked if I was a Dallas Stars fan, and our first conversation began. I immediately remembered my little brother, Carter, once telling me, “If you want to get a guy’s attention, just talk hockey.” Sure enough, Cam and I ended up talking hockey the entire time and never mingled with anyone else! Not long after, Cam asked me out on our first date, what he called a "dinner event". I thought it was a TCU Football event since he worked for the team. Two days before, he casually mentioned that the “event” was actually a wedding! Apparently, nothing says “first date” quite like formal attire, a seated dinner, and a dance floor. We danced all night and laughed the entire time. It could not have been a better first date, and a memory we still laugh at! From there, we were inseparable. Countless date nights in Fort Worth, cheering on the Horned Frogs, and late-night study sessions at the library quickly became our routine. Nine years later, we’ve built a life full of love and memories. From long distance, to three moves, and we’ve stood by each other through every high and low. Now, as we begin our next adventure, marriage, we can’t wait to celebrate with our family and friends this June. Ten years together and a lifetime to go, we’re so thankful for all that God has done in our lives!

The Proposal

May 23, 2025

While I’ve known for years that Lyndsey was “the one,” life has its twists and turns. Although we might have envisioned ourselves at a different phase in life by now, the challenges we’ve faced together and more importantly the way we’ve handled the unexpected, have only made us a stronger team. Lyndsey’s unwavering loyalty to those she cares about, unconditional love, and joy for life make her the perfect partner. "I knew exactly what to do. But in a much more real sense, I had no idea what to do." — Michael Scott Trying to plan a proposal and engagement weekend that encompasses a decade of your life and what someone means to you is a near impossible task. Over the years I’ve envisioned proposing to Lyndsey in a number of different ways and at a number of different places, but the perfect plan had escaped me. Fortunately, our Matron of Honor and Best Man are a professional event planner and professional photographer, and our other Matron of Honor also stepped in with her keen eye for location. After tireless planning, contingencies, and phone calls, on May 23, 2025, it was finally time. If you know anything about Lyndsey, it’s that she thrives in social settings. In the coming days the PGA would be hosting the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at our headquarters in Frisco, TX. I lured her to PGA Frisco with me under the guise that we’d been invited to a "dinner event"– full circle moment– and I thought she ought to go since she knew a number of KPMG employees attending from her father’s time with the firm. After we parked and walked by a completely empty event venue, Lyndsey caught on and I was able to ask her to marry me at the perfect quiet spot on the golf course. She said YES and what ensued was a 3-day weekend full of celebrating with our family and friends!
