It was New Year's Eve and Lyndsey was out with friends in Nashville doing the usual NYE things- dressed up, out on the town, etc. The next day, one of her friends (who happened to have gone to college with Cole) posted a picture with her. He saw the picture and immediately DM'ed the friend asking who Lyndsey was. Low and behold, Lyndsey gets a notification that she has a DM. She'll admit she had no intention of the DM actually turning into anything, so she just played along and enjoyed some funny conversation. It carried on this way for about 3 weeks with Lyndsey and Cole DM'ing daily. Eventually, Lyndsey's friend said she thought she should ask him to come to Nashville so they could meet in real life. Again, playing along and keeping with the "why not?" attitude, Lyndsey told him he should come visit Nashville and stay with some of his buddies from college, who were also friends of hers. He says 'name the weekend and he's there'. So, she did. In a funny twist of events, the day before he was supposed to come to Nashville, Lyndsey ended up having the most hectic and stressful day at work and hadn't been on her phone all day. At the end of the day she thought "Oh my gosh, he totally thinks I'm trying to bail on him and ghost him before he comes to town tomorrow". So, she texted him and apologized for not responding all day and told him work was crazy and the day got away from her. He responded asking if she had a bottle of wine at her house. Super confused, she said yes. He said "Perfect, give me an hour". An hour later, he FaceTimed her. This is the first time she's actually hearing his voice or seeing his face. He told her to pour herself a glass of wine and he did the same and they spent the next three and a half hours on FaceTime talking as if they'd known each other for years. The next day when it came time to meet in person, Lyndsey was so nervous. She still says she remembers him walking out to meet her for the first time and her just standing there frozen. They went out with their friends that night and Lyndsey just could not shake the nerves. So, she decided they should skip the cliche Nashville scene and go somewhere a bit more her speed. Twenty minutes later, they're in line at Ms. Kelli's Karaoke Bar in Printers Alley. Not long after they get inside, Cole goes up to the bar and buys himself a shot of Fireball. He comes back to the table and says "Let's play a game". Again confused, Lyndsey says "Okay?". He said "If I take this shot of Fireball, we kiss". Long story short, he took the shot, and here we are.
