Steve and I matched on Tinder in January 2018. His opening line? “I have a mouse in my kitchen—what would you name it?” It was such a quirky, unexpected question that it immediately caught my attention, and we started chatting. We quickly realized we shared a similar sense of humor and wit, which made it easy to lose track of time. We spent hours talking late into the night, laughing and sharing stories as if we’d known each other forever. We tried to meet that same month, but a snowstorm had other plans. I returned to Nazareth University for my junior year, while Steve stayed busy working at SUNY Morrisville. By April, we were finally ready to meet in person. Steve made the two-hour drive to visit me at Nazareth, and naturally, my roommates and I made an outrageous request for him to bring his pet bunnies along. Steve, being the good sport he is, agreed. Our first meeting turned into a memorable adventure: sneaking rabbits into the dorms. Unfortunately, Steve ended up getting caught and kicked out, bunnies in tow. You’d think that would have been the end of us—but it wasn’t. From that first (chaotic) meeting, everything just clicked. What started as a quirky message about a mouse has turned into a love story full of laughter, adventures, and the little moments that mean the most. Now, we can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of our story with all of you by our side!
