How we met

First year of College

Lyle: I still remember the first time I saw you at McDonald's on Kloof Street. I remember thinking, "Who is that beautiful girl" I had no idea back then that you were exactly the person I had been looking for. When my friend, told me that Carla had a friend who liked me, it didn’t click that it was you, because I was searching for you, completely unaware that my future was right in front of me. Luckily, our friends encouraged us to go on that first date, and now, nine years later, I can’t picture my life without you. You bring so much joy and love into my days, and I truly cherish every moment we share. Tammy: I was just reminiscing about that day at McDonald's when we first crossed paths. It's amazing how a chance meeting turned into something so incredible. I still remember your charming deep dimples and how surprised I was to learn we went to the same college. It feels like our friends really had a hand in writing our love story from the start! I want you to know how grateful I am to have you in my life. You truly are the best decision I’ve ever made, and I look forward to all the memories we have yet to create.

Fun fact about us

For the love of love

Here’s a fun fact about us: people often tease us about being related when we share this! We both have birthmarks, each in the same location, and we also share beauty spots on the soles of our feet—just on opposite sides. Lyle’s birthmark is on the right side of his cubital fossa, while mine is on the left of my cubital fossa. Similarly, Lyle’s beauty mark is on the left side of his foot, and mine is on the right. It got us reflecting - when two puzzle pieces fit together, each one filling the other's gaps, they create a complete image. Each element brings its own uniqueness, yet in their collaboration, they create something greater than themselves. It’s interesting how these small details can make the most sense. It almost feels like God has planned this all along. It reminded us that our physical traits can symbolize the emotional ties we share. It’s a sweet reminder of the little things that make our connections meaningful.
