Lyla and King bought a newly constructed townhouse. On their closing date, after the papers were finalized and the house keys were handed to them, they were eager to drive to their new house. Lyla was completely unaware that King had gathered all their friends to help decorate the house and to help him ask the big question. Lyla was shocked when she opened the door to their house for the first time and seeing all their friends holding the M-A-R-R-Y M-E letters on the sidewalk outside of the house. King got down on one knee and asked the highly anticipated question that Lyla had been longing for, "Will you marry me?" Champagne bottles were popped. Cakes were eaten. They will always remember this momentous day as they start their life together in their new home as a newly engaged couple.
So many moving parts were being handled in the background as we were in the lawyer's office signing our paperwork for the new house we bought. We were closing and I was scrambling to get things in order for the proposal. I had no clue how it was all going, but I had complete faith in our friends that were willing to help me set it all up. When we got to the house, I was more nervous than ever and had no idea what I was going to say to Lyla. My thoughts were going a million a second and I knew I would choke up...I did. I wanted to give the longest speech ever, but ended up giving a smaller one and getting down on one knee. I was happier than ever, but now, as I get to write here for everyone to read, this is what I wanted to say to you: Lyla Min Chang, you are my heart, my wonder, my blue never ending sky and I am the luckiest man alive. You've given your heart and now I will always be in debt. As we begin our new life in this new house, this new engagement and soon, this new marriage, I will take care of you. I will be your shield; your protector, your shoulder to cry on; your body to hug in happiness, your biggest fan; your admirer, the one who will walk by your side in the hardest of times; the one who will celebrate with you in the best of times, and most importantly, the man who you can confidently call your husband. I Love You, Will You Marry me?
