FAQs

Question

There are like... six events?!

Answer

Well yes! Actually more like two events (the ceremony and reception on Sunday) and four pop ups throughout the weekend. Please plan to attend the ceremony and reception for sure. Everything else is a chance for casual connection. We're not planning any meals or special programming at the pop ups - leave your FOMO at home!

Question

Where can I find directions for everything happening through the weekend?

Answer

Check out the "Schedule" tab on this website for addresses and handy "Map" buttons.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

It's Santa Barbara, so perfect probably. There will be a good amount of sun at the ceremony. Please note that it can be chilly at the beach and we will be outside - bring an extra layer!

Question

Should I bring rice and other throwables to your ceremony?

Answer

Please no - The County will come after us! Bubbles will be provided.

Question

Is there a seating chart at the ceremony or reception?

Answer

No, but immediate family should plan for front row seats at the ceremony.

Question

What is the dress code for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Dress for a wedding - whatever that means to you! We do not have a color code and it is not formal/black tie. You will be walking on grass at both the ceremony and the reception.

Question

Is there a rehearsal dinner?

Answer

Nope - we're winging it!

Question

Do I need to bring a swimsuit for the reception?

Answer

Haha, no - we are not planning on an ocean swim, Marco Polo, or to even be on the sand at all.

Question

Will there be food at the reception?

Answer

Yes - expect tacos, agua frescas, champagne, and cake.

Question

Will there be a chance to toast you two?

Answer

Yes - there will be an opportunity to toast the newlyweds at the reception. We are looking forward to the ribbing and sweet sentiments :)

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

YES ABSOLUTELY - immediately following sunset on Sunday, we will all hop in our cars and get over to Wildcat. Like all locations for the weekend, you can get directions in the "Schedule" tab on the website. Sunday night at Wildcat is Gay Night and a dragshow starting at 10pm. We will have a DJ and a reserved room. There is a $5 cover charge benefitting the drag performers - we'll pay that for you! We will get a dancing headcount and give guidance at the reception.

Question

How do we see you on Friday for the downtown hangout?

Answer

Meet us at Institution Ale on Friday 5pm-7pm. We are not doing a group meal or programming of any sort, but there is plenty of food in that area if you'd like a bite before during, or after seeing us. Details are in the "Schedule" tab!

Question

How do we see you on Saturday at the Solstice parade?

Answer

We will meet at the intersection of Sola and Santa Barbara Streets at 12pm on Saturday and then walk down. After the parade, we will go to the festival at Alameda Park. There is food and a biergarten there. Plan to spend the afternoon soaking up the sun, the music, and crazy Solstice sights!

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

Yes, at the "Registry" tab on this website. Thanks!
